Organisational History

The Maleny Enterprise Network Association Incorporated (MENA Inc.) began life as an enterprise centre, in 1990, at the Old Maleny Butter Factory, located within the main business area of the township.

In 1994, with a grant from the Federal Government, through the Department of Primary Industries and Energy (DPIE), the Maleny Telecentre was established. One year later the two bodies merged and the organisation focussed on using computer based technologies offering, support, training and solutions for the local community.

Success Stories

During the last several years the Centre has aided and supported the establishment of a number of successful local businesses some of which include:

  • Maleny Clean Cuisine (Gourmet Sauces)

  • Pure Pasta Products

  • Ken Taylor Motorbikes

  • Kay Johnston Secretarial Service

  • Sovereign Downes Sea Minerals

Additionally, MENA has provided training to over 1000 community residents, many of these courses being computer based.
